Questions about SmartBali

What is SmartBali?

SmartBali is an independent, ad-free guide to Bali. It lists warungs, restaurants, cafés, beach clubs, bars, gyms, padel courts, coworking spaces and more across 34 areas of the island, and shows which places someone has actually visited.

How are places tested?

An author visits like any guest, without announcing it, pays the full bill and keeps the receipt. Then they write the review and give up to four scores from 1 to 10.

How is the SmartBali Score calculated?

It is the average of up to four scores from 1 to 10: food or offer, value, vibe and service, given by the person who visited.

Is SmartBali sponsored?

No. There are no ads, no paid listings, no affiliate links and no invitations. No place can buy a listing or a better score.

Which parts of Bali does SmartBali cover?

All nine regencies: Badung (Canggu, Seminyak, Uluwatu), Denpasar (Sanur), Gianyar (Ubud), Tabanan, Klungkung (Nusa Penida), Karangasem (Amed, Sidemen), Bangli (Kintamani), Buleleng (Lovina, Munduk) and Jembrana.

How many places does SmartBali list?

A guide to Bali, by area and by category

Looking for a warung in Canggu, a coffee in Ubud, a beach club in Seminyak or a padel court in Uluwatu? SmartBali sorts the island by area and by category, and marks clearly which places someone has actually visited.

Tested places carry a receipt: the date of the visit, the scores and who paid. Places nobody has visited yet are listed from research and show no score. No ads, no paid listings, no invitations.
