Sanur Beach

Sanur Beach is a coastal area in the Sanur district of Denpasar on Bali’s southeast side. The shoreline faces east and is known for its calmer reef-protected waters, long beachfront route and views across the Bali Strait.

What you find there

The beach area includes sandy stretches, seawalls, traditional fishing boats, hotels, restaurants and a paved path used for walking and cycling. Offshore reefs and small islands can be seen from the coast, and the shoreline is used for boat departures to nearby islands.

History and setting

Sanur is one of Bali’s established coastal settlements and has a long connection with fishing and sea transport. The area also has cultural sites such as the Blanjong inscription, an important early historical record from Bali.

Visiting

Public sources place the beach along Jalan Danau Tamblingan and the Sanur beachfront in Denpasar. Visitors should follow local signs around boat piers, temple areas and public beach access points.
