Tabanan Morning Market is a local market in Tabanan, about a 10-minute ride from Kedungu by scooter or car. It opens early, around sunrise, and is busy with local shoppers buying fresh food.
What is sold
Stalls sell fresh vegetables, spices, fish and traditional snacks. Vendors have baskets of fragrant herbs and chili pastes on display. Freshly made nasi jinggo is sold ready to take away: a smaller version of nasi campur, wrapped in banana leaves. Fried bananas (pisang goreng) and Balinese cakes (jaje Bali) are other snacks on offer.
Visiting
Most of the activity happens before 9 in the morning, so the early hours are the busiest time at the market.
