Pura Taman Saraswati

Pura Taman Saraswati is a Hindu temple in central Ubud dedicated to Saraswati, the goddess associated with knowledge, literature and the arts. The complex stands near the Ubud Palace area and is reached from Jalan Kajeng and the central Ubud streets.

What you find there

The temple includes carved stone gates, shrines, a broad lotus pond and a stage used for traditional Balinese dance performances. The pond forms the approach to the main entrance and contains lotus plants that are part of the temple’s visual design.

Saraswati is an important figure in Balinese Hinduism and the temple reflects Ubud’s long connection with dance, literature, painting and performance. The site is part of the active cultural life of the town rather than a standalone archaeological ruin.
