Bob Tattoo Bali is a tattoo studio on Jl. Raya Pengosekan in Ubud. It opened in 2004 and is named after its owner, Gusti Made Mahardika, known as Bob, who has won several tattoo competitions. The studio aims to bring Balinese tattooing together with modern styles and has a family-oriented atmosphere.
Styles and services
Work is done in Balinese, traditional, color and black and grey styles, and each artist has a specialization of his own. Besides new tattoos, the studio assesses and repairs existing ones, restores faded work and does full cover-ups.
Hygiene
Benches and chairs are cleaned between clients and clean covers are placed over the area where artists work. Skin is cleaned with a medical-grade antiseptic lotion before the tattoo is placed, inks are poured into single-use containers, and artists use single-use applicators that are unwrapped in front of the client. The studio works to Australian health standards and uses imported disposable, sterilized equipment.
