Can foreigners work in Bali?
Only with a work permit: an Indonesian employer sponsors a work stay permit (KITAS) for the job. Working on a tourist or visit visa is not allowed. Every job on SmartBali says whether the employer provides a permit, is open to Indonesian citizens only, or is remote work for a company abroad.
What about remote work for a company outside Indonesia?
Indonesia has a remote worker visa (E33G) for people employed by a company abroad, with an income requirement set by immigration. Jobs marked Remote, foreign employer are of that kind. Check the current rules on the immigration site or with a visa agent before you apply.
